MINIMUM WAGES INCREASE
A reminder that
award wages increase by 3.5%, from the first full pay period starting on or after
1 July 2025.
Employees covered under
Registered Agreements may also receive an increase
- refer to information in your Agreement. A reminder that the base rate in a Registered Agreement cannot be less than the base rate in the relevant award.
INFORMATION STATEMENTS - LATEST VERSIONS
Employers must give
every new employee a copy of the
fair work information statement before, or as soon as possible after they
start their new job.
Employers must also give
every new casual employee
a copy of the
casual employment information statement at the same time.
When an employee enters a
new fixed term contract,
they must also be given a copy of the
fixed term contract information statement.
RIGHT TO DISCONNECT STARTS SOON FOR SMALL BUSINESS
Right to disconnect laws apply to small business (with less than 15 employees) from Tuesday
26 August 2025.
These laws already apply to other businesses.
The right to disconnect gives employees the right to refuse to mentor, read or respond to contact (or attempted contact) outside their working hours, unless doing so is unreasonable. This includes contact (or attempted contact) from an employer or a third party.
